Take Two

By Popular Demand: COLORED DRAWINGS BY YOURS TRULY
Goofy Dino
It's kind of embarrassing to explain the inspiration for this picture... I was channel-surfing and I stopped at a popular TV show from my childhood, the Rugrats. It was one of the episodes with Reptar, Tommy's favorite toy. I put a spin on it and made him look less vicious (I know he wasn't very vicious to begin with, but anyways...) as he did on the show, I kind of wanted him to look more child friendly and kind of goofy. What do you guys think?
Another Megaman
Not much else to say. I love the twin sabers he has. Feedback would be appreciated.
Egyptian Princess
This picture was created from the bottom-up. Why? Because it was intended to be a vase with a wilting rose, while I continued to draw I noticed that it started to resemble the body of a very shapely woman. I was kind of feeling too lazy to erase the bottom and put in legs so I made it into one tight but modest (somewhat) dress. I do intend to color it, but it won't change much I intend for the dress to be white. I want to put a few gold accents on the accessories, so look out for the finished product soon.

Amazon meets Tomb-Raider
I know, I know, very... umm... revealing, but if you google images of Tomb Raider (if you are not familiar with it already) you will pick up on the resemblance. The thong was not my idea, I showed the picture to a friend and told him to tweak it if he wanted to. when I got the picture back she had a thong and a hole in her shirt. What do you guys think?

Android-Dino
Sitting bored in church and doodled this and when I got home I colored and detailed it. Didn't take very long I was kind of just messing with different shapes when I put this together. Triangle = top of head and talons; Diamond = for the little elbow accessories; Lamp shade = fore arms... and other shapes... Feedback???
P.S. The little flying by his head was inspired from Digi-mon... I'm a nerd, I know...

The Pilot

All of my drawings are done with a standard #2 pencil (can't really afford otherwise)

Gabriel
Bio: One of my many angel pics. I was thinking about the archangel Gabriel and what he may look like going into battle (it's nerdy I know but  that's what inspired me to do this sketch)
I had done this pic a while back (the date on it is when I finished it originally). But during October of last year I decided to add the space scenery that you now see...

Zero (MegaMan)
Bio: One of my favorite sketches (took me about 3hrs to do on and off).
The logo that I put on him is a combination of the MegaMan NT Warrior (the show) logo, The sword that he has in his hand, and the "Z" that was used in MegaMan X6 in his START menu.
I still have yet to decide what I am going to put in the background... I was thinking maybe a robot that he destroyed and it would be on fire/ or exploding... suggestions would be gladly accepted.

Cupid as a 10 yr old...
Bio: This one was inspired from the Cupid of Greek mythology, He was always depicted as a baby in diapers with cute little wings. So I decided to draw him a little older...
I figured he wouldn't need his trusty bow and arrow any more since he would be able to control his love-inspiring powers by now... suggestions.

Unnamed Angel
I saw this angel online and made my own rendition of it... I have yet to decide what scenery I'm going to put it in... suggestions???
I used a pen to outline it

Mech-Angel
Bio: "What if angel's looked like crystalized robots?" That was my inspiration for this pic... took me a while to do this one; about 3hrs. So far it is my favorite sketch and one the favorites of my onlookers... what do you guys think???
I used a pen to outline it.

Mission Statement

As an artist, I know how ecstatic we get from the praises of appreciative spectators, but more often than not these people are not necessarily capable of giving productive insight or constructive criticism simply because they aren’t artists. I’m a sketch artist, I prefer to draw concept designs on characters to be fitted into story lines of comics (like the stuff that you see at the end of a manga with the different ways a character was drawn before the final draft was made). And sometimes I wouldn’t mind getting a few pointers like “that could use a little more shading along the…” or “nice contrast of textures,” but those are hard to come by.
With this blog I intend to offer aspiring sketch artists an opportunity to get feedback from a more experienced audience… fellow artists. Artists will be able to give/receive comments on each other’s works, find their muse, and maybe even discover new ways to draw.
I won’t claim to be the next Pablo Picasso or DaVinci, (I really only draw manga or western comic style like a Marvel Comic or something) but I do feel for my fellow aspiring artists, and sometimes praise isn’t enough. So upload your stuff and have fun.
                                                            Looking forward to it,
                                                               Alexander "XraiderX" Taylor
